Starting off now when you start off you should be in sector 0 from there scan the available sectors see if there is any sectors with less thatn 3 planets no mines or fighters and has a commoditie either GOODS or ORE now either one will do if there is now goods or ore sectors go to the sector with the most warp links from there scan all the available sectors again try and find the opposite commoditie than the one you are in yet again if you are still looking for a commodotie sector then find one eventually you will find a commoditie sector and from there once you have found a sector with a commoditie and scanned all available warp links and found the opposite commoditie so GOOD>ORE or ORE>GOODS then click on the trade control button and create a trade link between the two sectors then trade 100 times then go back to sector 0 and upgrade your hull remember when your engines are primitive only travel via warp
once you have upgraded your hull go to the same sector with your trade link and do it 100 times again go do this over and over until your hull is at lvl 15 once your hull is at lvl 15 upgrade all others to 10 find a safe place to park build a planet and put fighters on there and money once your done with that you may want to join a allience most probably wont accept you because your score isnt very high so find one that you want to join and mail the allience they will invite you :) try to make more friends than enemies other wise you might find yourself being picked on
Your Class once you have earned so much cash that trading doesnt really help any more you bassically have 3 choices but the third one isnt really profitable sometimes and others mountains of cash its a gamble there are the Banker the Bounty Hunter or the mission player.
Banker the banker builds planets protects them and places all his cash either in the igb account or on planets leaves the money in there and let it grow
Bounty Hunter the bounty hunter takes bounty missions he either kills the people there is bounties on or goes searching for smaller ships with money on them this is sometimes a hard way to get by
Mission player the mission player gets missions from much better players the mission player carries it out and gets cash for it this is good for those who know how to barter well and has allies in the game
Things you should not do first of all dont waste your time trading energy or organics because they wont get as much value as goods and ore second dont go attacking bigger allieces or people because they will keep killing you as often as they find you so try to be friendly third dont upgrade your engines to like level 40 because it wont make any difference
